    Most works in Think BIG were created on-site at the Castellani Art Museum. Throughout 2017 and early 2018, the artists participated in workshops focusing on large-scale works from the museum’s collection. For many of the artists, the pieces featured in the exhibit are the largest they’ve created to date, including a 14 foot painting on unstretched canvas by Kevin Krauss

    • Everyone will have the opportunity to be a worker and laborer and take part in being a member of the Lock Tender Team and actually work the miter gates to open the Flight of Five 1842 Lock Gates
    • We will hike down and walk along the actual Mill Race area that water power was harnessed and captured to run the mills and factories of Lowertown
    • We will be stopping at historical sites of Lockport that still to this day, hold tightly to the history that impacted so greatly on Lockport, the County and the world
    • We will have a photo opportunity to be the statues of the real Lock Tender Tour Tribute Artwork planned to be installed on Locktoberfest this year (2018)

    Kids 'n Arts summer camp will provide your children with an enriching art and theatre experience unlike any other camp! Campers will spend mornings enjoying storytelling and theatre games. In the afternoon they will create a number of exciting art projects inspired by the museum's rich art collection. Your children will have the benefit of working with faculty and students from Niagara University including the Theatre and Fine Arts Department, NURT (Niagara University Repertory Theatre), local teaching artists, and professionals from the Castellani Art Museum

    Ages & Attire: Camp is for children ages 5-12. Please dress in clothing appropriate for art making and physical activities. Sandals may not be suitable

    This juried outdoor art show brings 25,000 visitors to the heart of picturesque historic Lewiston, New York. The festival attracts art lovers from Western New York and Southern Ontario, as well as international visitors from Niagara Falls. Work by more than 175 exceptional artists is featured in a wide range of both fine art and artistic craft categories including:

    • Painting Works created in watercolor, oils and/or acrylics
    • Graphic Arts Drawing, Printmaking, T-shirts, Computer Generated Art, Chalk, Charcoal, Pastels, Pencil, Wax Crayons, Inks & Washes
    • Mixed Media Two and three-dimensional works that incorporate more than one type of physical material in their production
    • Photography
    • Pottery/Ceramics/Glass Original wheel thrown, hand built clay or mosaic design work
    • Fiber Wearable and non-wearable work crafted from natural fibers, including basketry, weaving, tapestry and papermaking
